TOPS TIPS FOR A LUSH
GREEN LAWN

Follow our growing guide below to ensure you get the best results. A little bit of preparation goes a long way to ensuring you get the lush green lawn you've always wanted.

1. Super Green Lawn Seed is a versatile and tough lawn seed that can be simply sprinkled onto your existing patchy or bare lawn. Use 20gms per sq/m, as a guide this is less than a handful of seeds. (A 500g bag will cover approx. 25 sq/m). For a new lawn, the seed should be sown at 35-50gms per sq/m, roughly a good handful of seeds. (A 500g bag will cover an area of 10-14 sq/m).

2. It maybe helpful to mark the area into sections to gauge seed coverage. If you are using a seed spreader, you can test the aperture setting by placing a piece of sheeting on a smooth surface and test the flow of seed through the machine.

3. If conditions are dry after sowing, it would help to water the area, which is best done during the early evening.

4. The seed will germinate in approximately 5-10 days. The over seeded area should not be cut below 3cms (1 inch) for the 6 weeks after sowing. Reseeded bare areas should be allowed to grow until about 2 inches (50mm) high, and then gradually reduce by 1/2 inch (15mm) each time the new grass is cut over a period of weeks.

TO GIVE YOUR NEW LAWN A MORE ENHANCED APPEARANCE, TRY THE FOLLOWING:

1. Ensure the area for the new lawn is clear of debris - stones, bricks, wood etc. and break down large pieces of soil.

2. Make the area even and uniform using a straight edge (a length of wood/plank), dragging in different directions to level the area to be sown. 3. Fertiliser can be applied at this stage. Rake the fertiliser into the prepared ground.

4. Once you have completed the sowing, give the area a light raking to cover the majority of the seed. Try to cover as much as possible but don't worry if some of the seed appears not to be covered, the vast majority will be just below the surface. Give the area a light roll once the seed is sown - this will keep the seed in contact with the moisture.
